5 AAPI-Owned Businesses to Visit in Highland Park

As AAPI Heritage Month comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate some of the incredible Asian American and Pacific Islander-owned businesses that help make Highland Park such a vibrant and creative community.

Recently, two members of the DeeLux team stopped by Kuyas, a Filipino-American boutique café in Highland Park, to meet with owners Sian and Arnold, learn more about their story and try some of their food & bev favorites. During the visit, they also shared a few of their favorite AAPI-owned spots in the neighborhood, from wellness spaces and restaurants to creative studios and local shops.

If you’re looking to support local businesses while exploring Highland Park, here are five AAPI-owned businesses worth checking out.

1. The Artform Studio

The Artform Studio is a creative space that brings together art, community and self-expression. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and thoughtfully curated experiences, it’s become a go-to spot for creatives in the area. Whether you’re attending a workshop, browsing artwork or connecting with local artists, The Artform Studio reflects the artistic energy that makes Highland Park so unique.

2. Leaf and Spine

For plant lovers and design enthusiasts alike, Leaf and Spine is a must-visit. This beautifully curated plant shop combines greenery, home decor and wellness into one calming space. From rare plants to stylish pots and gifts, the shop has become a neighborhood favorite for anyone looking to bring a little more life into their home.

3. PLNTBSD

PLNTBSD is a cannabis shop in Highland Park offering a curated selection of products in a modern, welcoming space. Known for its community-focused atmosphere and thoughtful approach, it’s become a staple in the neighborhood and another great example of the diverse AAPI-owned businesses that make Highland Park unique.

4. China Beauty

A longtime neighborhood staple, China Beauty is known for serving comforting Chinese food that locals continue coming back for. It’s one of those classic spots that feels familiar, reliable and deeply rooted in the community — exactly the kind of business worth supporting and celebrating during AAPI Heritage Month and beyond.

5. Highland Park Fight Club

Highland Park Fight Club brings together fitness, discipline and community through martial arts and training programs. More than just a gym, it’s a space where people build confidence, learn new skills and support one another. Their presence adds to the diversity and energy that makes Highland Park such a special place to live and work.

At DeeLux, we love supporting the local businesses that make Highland Park such a creative and welcoming community. Thank you again to Sian and Arnold of Kuyas for sharing their story and shouting out some of their favorite AAPI-owned spots in the neighborhood.

As AAPI Heritage Month comes to a close, we encourage everyone to continue supporting local AAPI-owned businesses year-round — whether that’s through shopping, dining or simply showing up for your community.
